FAQ

Q. Is social on this week?

A. Yes. Social is always on unless we says it’s not.

Q. What volleyball does UWAVC offer?

A. UWAVC nominates teams into WAVL (Western Australian Volleyball League) and WAVjL (Juniors). Trainings for WAVL are twice a week and games are on the weekend (usually Sundays). Trainings for WAVjL are once a week and games are on Friday nights.

We run a Social Volleyball drop-in session on Saturdays, 2:00-4:00pm. We run Pre-season training sessions from January-March, before our Trials for the WAVL season. We also run a Skills Session, Saturday 12:30-2:00pm, for players who want to get better, but perhaps didn’t make a WAVL team.

Q. How do I get reimbursed for coaching/refereeing/etc?

A. Email or message our treasurer, Aidan Walsh at treasurer@uwavolleyballclub.com.

Q. How can my son or daughter play in Junior League?

A. Junior League is very hard to organize. If you are at one of our affiliated high schools, all you will need to do is find enough players within the appropriate age bracket and let UWAVC know you want to enter a team. If you are not, the process is harder. Send us an expression of interest that your child would like to play. If there are enough players in a certain age bracket, and all are willing to train at a central venue, we can arrange a team and coach. If there aren’t enough expressions of interest, we cannot enter a team. Check the Juniors section of our website for more details.

Q. Where can I find complete my Level 1 Referee or Level 1 Coach course?

A. Go to the VWA Fortix Portal and you can buy and complete your courses there.

Q. How do I pay the club for “…”?

A. Everything we offer to UWAVC members can be found in our Merchandise section of the website.

Q. What’s “VWA Employee Name’s” email address again?

A. Check VWA’s website here.

Q. When does the season/first game/finals start?

A. Check VWA’s calendar here.

Q. Where does UWA Volleyball Club train?

A. UWA Sport Recreation Center.

Q. How do I join a UWAVC team?

A. Follow our Facebook page and watch out for when we post our Trial dates. You can trial for the club, and we will enter you into a team based on your skill level.

Q. Do I have to have played volleyball before into order to make a team?

A. Not necessarily, but it helps.

Q. Where can I find out about “”?

A. Did you check the Facebook page? Did you check the website? Did you google it? Did you check all the other FAQs on this page? Did you ask a friend who plays at UWAVC? If you have done all the above and can’t find the answer, send us a message on our Facebook.
